Portwall Lane | Bristol
Portwall Lane was originally a vacant commercial warehouse that has been transformed into modern office space, featuring an additional storey and a rooftop terrace.
We were appointed to deliver the additional storey and oversee the internal refurbishment. Our design incorporated a lightweight steel frame, supported by the existing reinforced concrete columns, to carry the engineered floor joists and softwood roof structure. By minimizing the weight of the new structural elements, we were able to justify the additional loads on the original structure and foundations.
This Grade A property now offers exciting new spaces with minimal environmental impact, earning a BREEAM Excellent certification for the project’s sustainability achievements
